2.5" x 10" GAC Filter

Granular activated carbon cartridge, 2.5" x 10". It takes chlorine out of the feed water before the RO membrane. Chlorine permanently damages RO membranes, so a carbon stage is essential on scheme water.

How to use

• Fit it as the second stage, after the sediment filter and before the RO membrane
• Remove the wrapper and install it with the arrow end up
• Flush it to waste until the water runs clear of carbon fines before sending water to the membrane
• Change it every six months, or sooner under heavy use

Good to know

• You cannot see when carbon is spent and a TDS meter will not show it, so change it on schedule
• RO membranes tolerate less than 0.1 ppm of free chlorine
