Pressure Cleaning: common questions

How do I choose the right nozzle size for my pressure washer?

The nozzle size depends on your machine’s flow and rated pressure. Size = flow in US gallons per minute × √(4000 ÷ PSI). For example, a 15 L/min (4 GPM) machine at 200 bar (2900 PSI) needs a size 050 nozzle. Our nozzle tip chart works it out in litres and bar.

What do the nozzle colours mean?

The colour shows the fan angle: red is 0° (pencil jet), yellow is 15° (chiselling), green is 25° (flushing, the everyday nozzle) and white is 40° (wide, gentle washing). The size number, not the colour, is what must match your machine.

Why has my pressure washer lost pressure?

A worn nozzle is the most common cause: as the orifice wears it opens up and pressure drops. If the filter is clean and there are no leaks, replace the nozzle before looking at the pump or unloader.
