What is the difference between RO and DI for window cleaning?

Reverse osmosis (RO) pushes water through a membrane that removes most dissolved solids. Deionisation (DI) resin removes what is left, bringing water to 0 TDS. Most systems run RO first and DI as a final polish, which makes the resin last far longer.

Why do I need pre-filters before an RO membrane?

Sediment and carbon pre-filters remove grit and chlorine before the water reaches the membrane. Chlorine in mains water damages RO membranes, so the carbon filter protects them and extends their life.
